The story is only partly worked out, and I am no writer, yet I don't what to give away where I'm going with this just yet

However, imagine if you will, a dark stage. All is quiet. A bright green light begins flashing down stage right. A chanting voice begins:

"0000, 0001, 0010, 0011, 0100, 0101,..." (you get the idea)

as "The Slipper Also Rises" begins.

A bright light shines on the face of an angelic young woman, chanting the binary sequence. She is dressed in white, her eyes are closed. At measure 15, another similar-looking woman glides in from stage left. Her long train follows behind her as she twirls on stage until measure 25 where she exits stage left and, as she passes, a podium mounted red light begins pulsing. At measure 26, the chanter opens her eyes and slowly looks towards the red light. A look of understanding dawns on her face and she walks over towards the pulsing red light. Which she hits exactly at measure 31.

The lights come up showing a stage covered with a variety of geometrical shapes - cubes, spheres, on the stage. Some on the floor, some on the ceiling. Basic colors of red, green and blue cover the shapes. Dancers come on the stage. All dressed in grey, they spin and weave in between each other, each dancing a separate dance. At measure 100, they begin to interact with each other. At measure 132, the chanting woman reenters stage left climbing a small set of stairs and again chants the binary sequence while the dancers slowly begin to match each other's steps. At measure 165, a larger chorus of white dressed binary chanters enters stage left. By measure 188, they have pulled the stairs back, leaving only the grey dancers to move in exact step for the last 8 measures. Fade to black.... and scene :)

This work is licenced under a Creative Commons Licence.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://muusicnet.blogspot.com/2007/02/first-song-slipper-also-rises.html' title='First Song -
